Who & Why: Postmodern Idiosyncrasies

Hello,

This is Postmodern Idiosyncrasies, a site with a deliberately awful name to attract the minimum of passing traffic, and the malformed brainchild of me, Thom Dicomidis.

I’m a post-post graduate with an MA in English Literary Studies from the University of York and a BA in Philosophy & English from the University of Keele, and so naturally I find myself gainfully unemployed. I set up this blog in order to keep myself writing and my brain ticking over, so I’ll be posting reviews, short stories and essays and there’s a twitter feed for random thoughts, fragments and jokes that I’ll probably never get around to expanding into anything else.

Very little will be particularly idiosyncratic, less so evincing or even concerning postmodernism, but I’m sure you can read it into some of this stuff if you try hard enough, and working against the grain of the internet there’ll almost certainly be a tendency towards constructive reviewing, if only because I’m not going to seek out books etc. I anticipate being awful…

Comments, feedback and offers of in-date food or paid work are all and always appreciated.

Also, because a well-meaning, if paranoid, friend insisted:

Apparently.
